Cucumber salad with garlic

As it’s getting warmer and warmer, it’s time for some refreshing salads. Based on our survey in the 18 Chinese restaurants in Chinatown, the most popular Chinese salad is cucumber with garlic. Actually it is super easy to cook at home.

 

Step1: Wash the cucumber. It is recommended not to peel the skin, so that it tastes crunchy and smells fresh.

Step2: Smash the cucumber so that it is a bit crushed, and then cut into small pieces. 

Step3: Place the pieces into a bowl, add salt, sugar, soy sauce, vinegar (preferably the Chinese black vinegar, called Chinkiang), sesame oil, and lots of garlic! (if you love spicy, you can add chili as well)

Step4: Mix them up. And done!
